We’re putting the ALE in VIDALIA.

Our Story

In the sun-kissed corners of Southeast Georgia, where the Ohoopee River gently winds its way through rural towns and pastures, a new story is brewing. Welcome to the Ohoopee River Brewing Company, home of good vibes and great beer, capturing the unhurried, unfettered, and sometimes unusual spirit of southern river people.

Our founder, Shane Harrelson, didn’t just wake up and decide to brew beer. He was a man on a journey of taste. Traveling through the North Georgia mountains and imbibing one too many generic beers, Shane decided to create a craft beer that captured the laid-back, spontaneous gatherings on the banks of the Ohoopee River. He strives to be more than a brewmaster. He wants to pour the heart and soul of the river into every concoction.

At the Ohoopee River Brewing Company, we’re not just in the business of brewing beer, we’re bottling the spirit of Southeast Georgia. Each brew is a tribute to river people — a love for nature, a passion for relaxation, and a commitment to the community. Our beers are crafted for those who appreciate the finer things in life, like a good IPA or craft beer made from local, organic ingredients.

Our logo, featuring mysterious cypress trees and flowing water, is a nod to our roots. It’s a symbol of our commitment to preserving the beauty of our region and our dedication to the community that has weathered storms and celebrated victories together.

As we look to the future, we see Ohoopee River Brewing Company expanding beyond the borders of Southeast Georgia, bringing the taste and spirit of our community to new audiences. But no matter how far we go, we’ll always stay true to our roots, to the river that inspired us, and to the people of our region who support us.
